Eliasville, TX.
Eliasville is situated along the Clear Fork of the Brazos River near the intersection of Farm Roads 1974, 3109, and 701, adjacent to the Stephens County line in southwestern Young County. The area was initially settled by J.L. Dobbs in 1871. In 1876, brothers William Leonard Donnell and Thomas Franklin Donnell relocated from Missouri and established ranches locally. That same year, Elias DeLong opened a bitters store in a log cabin on the riverbank, becoming the first permanent settler along the Clear Fork of the Brazos. His enterprise quickly prospered, leading him to expand into general merchandise and establishing himself as the area's first successful merchant.
